Understanding embezzlement

Many people may not be familiar with so-called white collar crimes, but just because they are not well-known does not mean that they should be taken lightly. White-collar crimes include charges such as embezzlement or fraud, and if you are charged with such a crime, it is highly recommended that you take action in your defense as quickly as possible. Being convicted of a white-collar crime can come with steep legal penalties, and it will almost certainly have a negative impact on your career.

Star of "Real Housewives" faces further sentencing for fraud

Joe Guidice, star of the TV show "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," was sentenced on April 2 for charges related to driver's license fraud. This is in addition to a sentence of 41 months he is already serving on other fraud charges. He will be able to serve the 18 months of his driver's license sentence concurrently with that one. Guidice was also ordered to pay $10,000, and his driver's license was suspended for two years. Both of these are the maximum punishment.

New Jersey mother and son face embezzlement charges

The most important tenet of the United States criminal justice system is the presumption that a person is innocent until and unless proved guilty in a court of law. This precept is designed to ensure that no one is imprisoned for a crime they did not commit. It does not matter whether a person faces embezzlement charges or murder charges, every person in New Jersey accused of a crime has the right to this legal presumption and to defend themselves against the accusations in court.

Former New Jersey official facing embezzlement charges

People who are elected to public office are trusted by their constituents to conduct themselves with integrity as they carry out their duties. While most do so, unfortunately, sometimes a few elected officials may appear to fall from grace when they are accused of breaking the public trust by allegedly engaging in unlawful activities that can sometimes result in some individuals facing embezzlement charges. One such case is a New Jersey former mayor who is being accused of misusing public monies. He has not yet had the opportunity to address these charges publicly.
