Nanny in New Jersey faces DUI charge

Any kind of accident or altercation can lead to criminal charges if the police become involved. When the police are called to a scene and believe there may be a drunk driving incident in progress, the suspect can face any number of consequences. A recent incident in New Jersey is gaining attention because an on-duty nanny was involved in an accident that ended in a DUI charge being filed.

The incident unfolded as a woman hired a nanny through an online service. When the mom returned home after leaving the nanny alone with her child, she found the nanny allegedly passed out from alcohol. The nanny fled the scene in a car and crashed the car, hitting a fire hydrant.

The 50-year-old nanny reportedly had a blood alcohol content that was three times the legal limit. Reportedly, there were also empty alcohol bottles in her car. She was accused of drunk driving, child endangerment and other charges related to the incident. The nanny was jailed on $50,000 bail.

The charges the woman faces are clearly serious. A drunk driving conviction in New Jersey can result in a loss of license, high fines and even jail time under certain circumstances. In cases such as this, a DUI charge may also impact a person’s ability to continue employment or pursue a certain line of work altogether. It is important for anyone arrested for drunk driving to understand how those charges may impact all aspects of a person’s life, including finances and employment opportunities. It will be necessary to ensure that all legal rights are protected so as to give the accused individual a fair and reasonable opportunity to contest the allegations and seek a favorable result.
