Young man faces driving while intoxicated charges in fatal crash

A New Jersey man was recently arrested by police on charges of drunk driving. The man has been accused of causing a fatal car accident along Interstate 95 that resulted in the death of three individuals. His arrest and driving while intoxicated charge was made public on a recent Wednesday.

The 19-year-old driver is from Hamilton Township. In addition to being charged with three counts of vehicular homicide, the man has also been charged with leaving a fatal car accident scene. His indictment was heard by a grand jury in Mercer County.

The accused driver was injured as a result of the fatal car accident, which occurred in December of last year. However, two female friends and his cousin suffered more severe injuries that resulted in their deaths. The young man could be sent to prison for many years if he is convicted of the allegations being brought against him.

Authorities claim that the accident occurred after the allegedly drunk driver lost control of his vehicle. The car first hit a curb and then it slammed into a parked semi-truck. In spite of charges claiming that the man was driving while intoxicated, his attorney states that poor weather was an important factor that led to the crash. Indeed, if this man’s attorney can offer sufficient explanation to show that bad weather was the causative factor of this deadly accident, it may serve to cast doubt on the idea that the crash occurred because the man was drunk. If successful, these arguments could serve to help the accused man in his New Jersey criminal defense proceedings.
